India's largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki India has recalled some of its vehicles to fix a problem related to the steering column. However, the vehicles are in a very less number. The company has issued a recall for 13 units of the A-Star, 581 units of the Swift Dzire, 592 units of the Swift and 306 units of the Ertiga.
According to the company, these affected units were produced between October 19 and October 26 this year. The recall doesn't include the vehicle that were exported. Maruti Suzuki will fit new steering columns at its authorized workshops in different cities. And for the same reason, the company has already dispatched the part to its service stations and now calling the customers driving affected models. The repair will be done free of cost
The company has also requested new Maruti Suzuki car owners to inspect if they too are facing some problem related to steering in their models. The company has also updated the same on its official websites and requested customers to fill their chassis number to verify if their cars too have similar problem. Customers can also contact local dealerships to check if their vehicles too need a change in steering column.
Maruti Suzuki India has recalled a total 1492 units of its different cars to fix a problem relating to the steering column. The company has also urged new Maruti car owners to cross check the same by filling in their car details on a form uploaded on the company's official website. Owners can also call their local dealership to know if their model also has the problem related to steering column.
