Maruti Suzuki Resumes Production Post Suzbros Fire

Country’s largest car manufacturer, Maruti Suzuki has resumed the production at its Gurgaon and Manesar facility after a weeklong maintenance closure. the production had to be put on hold after a fire broke out at the Subros Ltd, which supplies air-conditioning kits to Maruti and other automakers in the national capital region. The fire caused by a short circuit in the plant premises and the strong winds that further aggravated the situation.

The company had advanced the maintenance closure by three weeks to June 6-11, following a fire at the Manesar facilities of its supplier, Subros Ltd, on May 29. The company  also added in a statement that "Due to the strenuous efforts made by all concerned, operations at MSIL's facilities in Gurgaon and Manesar have begun smoothly."

Subros Limited is a manufacturer of thermal products for automotive applications in India and is in technical collaboration with Denso. Subros has two manufacturing plants at Noida, Manesar, Pune, Chennai and Sanand with an annual capacity of 1.5 Million AC Kits per annum and has a well equipped R&D Center and Tool Room in Noida. The Company manufactures heating, ventilation, compressors, and air conditioning (HVACs), piping and heat exchangers to suit various vehicle configurations.

Both the Gurgaon and Manesar Plant produce 5,500 units everyday that includes the production of Swift, Dzire, Baleno and Vitara Brezza.
