India’s largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki seems to be a firm believer of special edition and limited edition models and makes sure that the company keeps rolling out such models into the Indian market at regular intervals. The latest Maruti Suzuki vehicle to have gotten the Special Edition treatment is the Ritz hatchback and its called ‘Elate.’

The Maruti Suzuki Ritz Elate Special Edition model gets some new decals and cosmetic enhancements and will be offered only with the mid-level VXi and VDi variants. The special edition model will come at an additional Rs 19,990 over the standard car.

On the outside, the Ritz Elate gets orange decals, the ‘Elate’ logo at the rear, mud flaps and black door visors. Inside, the Special Edition model has been equipped with a JVC 2-DIN music system with Bluetooth, reverse parking sensors and ambient lighting. The cabin has also been further refreshed with orange upholstery, new steering wheel cover, floor mats and neck cushions.

The mechanical bits remain unchanged. This means, the Ritz Elate will come powered by the same 1.2-litre K-Series engine that is rated 90PS and 113Nm and a 1.3-litre DDiS engine that is able to produce 75PS of max power and 190Nm of peak torque. Both engines come mated to a 5-Speed manual gearbox.
