India’s biggest car maker, Maruti Suzuki has been breaking sales records now and then. The company started off with its CNG kitted fleet back in 2010 and since then, Maruti Suzuki has sold over five lakh CNG vehicles in the Indian market which includes its CNG fitted models such as Alto 800, Alto K10, WagonR, Celerio, Dzire, Eeco, and Super Carry. Out of all the cars, Maruti WagonR is the highest selling car in the company’s CNG portfolio.

“We are happy that over 5,00,000 customers have selected factory-fitted CNG vehicles that are cleaner, reliable, safer and environment-friendly, ” said Kenichi Ayukawa, managing director & CEO, Maruti Suzuki. “The benefit of low cost of ownership comes along with environment-friendly fuel option of CNG. The government’s resolve to rapidly expand countrywide CNG will enable many more customers to own an environment-friendly transport.”

The company retails the CNG models in almost all of the major Indian cities but these cars are especially famous in Delhi NCR region, and select regions of Gujarat, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Orissa, UP and Punjab.

Amidst the rising fuel prices in India, the CNG vehicles have been widely accepted in the Indian market. This fiscal, CNG vehicles have shown an extraordinary growth of over 50 percent (up until Nov 2018). And the company has also added CNG vehicle availability to 26 new cities taking the total count to 150 Indian cities.
