India’s biggest car manufacturer Maruti Suzuki is gearing up to launch 300 new dealerships across the country to expand its business further. The Indo Japanese automaker will set up these new showrooms by April 2019 and these will include premium retail outlets Nexa, regular dealerships called Arena and the commercial showrooms as well.
The brand has plan to invest Rs 980 crore in land purchasing across India that will be used for setting up the new showrooms and service centres. In the last financia year, Maruti Suzuki has experienced 13.4% growth in India despite issues with production. The new network of 300 dealerships will help the brand to post a further growth in the coming years. The brand presently has a market share of 50% in the Indian car market and it aims to increase that significantly in near future.
Not only opening new showrooms, Maruti Suzuki is also gearing up to launch new and updated models in the domestic market. One of the much awaited cars from the brand is the new Ertiga MPV that has been already unveiled in Indonesia. Apart from that, the Ciaz facelift too is on the card. The automaker is keen to increase its stake in the highly competitive UV segment of India.
At the 2018 Delhi Auto Expo, Maruti Suzuki showcased the Concept Future S and the e-Survivor. Both previewed the brand’s strategy to strengthen its grip in the SUV segment. Also, the auto major is aiming to become number one player in the electric mobility segment of India. Suzuki has already tied up with Toyota in global level and Maruti Suzuki will benefit from this partnership.
