Maruti Suzuki Saved 656 Million Litres of Water at its Dealer Workshops

Snapshot: Maruti Suzuki has saved over 656 Million litres of water via dry wash technique at its workshops in India. Dry wash and pollution check free till 10th June.

Maruti Suzuki India has hit a significant milestone by achieving a triple-fold figure in water savings at its dealer workshops. By adopting the dry wash initiative, the company has managed to save around 656 million litres of water within 2018-19 across its service centres. As compared to the prior figure of 216 million litres within 2016-17, it has now managed to fetch 203% more. Approximately 6.9 million Maruti Suzuki vehicles have been washed utilizing the dry wash system at its service centres in 2018-19.  

Maruti Suzuki Dry Wash Initiative

Speaking about this eco-friendly initiative, Partho Banerjee, the Executive Director - Service, Maruti Suzuki India said that we search and encourage the measures which delight the customer car experience as well as help in conserving the environment. Our initiatives such as paperless service and dry wash are designed in order to improve the convenience of customers without compromising over the environment.

Adding to this, he said that this dry wash initiative at our service centres is helping us to do something good to the society. The company would request to around 18 million customers to must visit the Maruti Suzuki service centers every year and should opt for this new initiative as well as help in conserving water for the future generations.

The dry wash initiative has proved to be successful, as it reduced the car washing time, minimized water consumption and improved wash quality. This initiative is centred on the major cities that have prevalent water scarcity. Nagpur, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, Pune and Delhi are the major cities that have been helpful in saving over 160 million litres of water in 2018-19.

Moreover, the company has announced complimentary dry wash and pollution check for its customers on the occasion of World Environment Day. As per the company, this offer is valid till 10 June 2019.

Maruti Suzuki India has a largest service network with more than 3,600 service centres in 1,750 towns and cities.
