Some highly talented artist from alvolante.it has rendered the upcoming Maruti Suzuki YRA premium hatchback and we have to say, it looks convincing as it can get. While the YRA hatch has been caught disguised several times, none describes the car in detail as does this version. To be launched in India this year, the YRA hatch will sit above Swift in the product hierarchy.
Styling wise, the car looks ravishingly up market with a bold V-shaped chrome line along the front grill. The swept back headlights look almost similar to those on the Suzuki Swift and the bumper is stacked with vertical DRLs. The protruded rear end and the high waistline make it an eye-pleaser. The top-end YRA will come with LED infused tail lights, 15 inch, multi-spoke alloy wheels, chromed door handles, chrome trimmings below the windows and the rear windscreen.
Codenamed YRA, the premium hatchback is expected to get interiors borrowed from the Maruti Ciaz sedan. There is no definite detail available for the engines, but the car is expected to get a 1.2 litre petrol unit and a 1.3 litre diesel unit from the Swift. Suzuki is also working on a 1.0 litre turbocharged petrol unit, which can make its debut in this car.
While the European launch is expected in a couple of months from now, the Indian launch wil happen somewhere in the second half of 2015. Once launched, the YRA will compete against the upcoming Honda Jazz and to some extent, Hyundai Elite i20.
