Maruti Swift Facelift fully revealed; Diwali Launch on cards

Snapshot: The company is also eyeing to introduce an automatic gearbox variant of the Swift hatchback, but nothing is concrete yet.

We earlier reported you that Maruti Swift facelift is ready to get dispatched to the company dealers and now clear images of new Swift has surfaced online. Our friends at Team-BHP have been successful in clicking these exclusive images of the facelift version of Swift, which is said to be launching on the eve of Diwali festival. The company is also eyeing to introduce an automatic gearbox variant of the Swift hatchback, but nothing is concrete yet.

As for the cosmetic modifications, the new Swift, as visible in pictures, would boast redesigned front bumper with L-shaped silver inserts lining the fog lamp housings. There would be daytime running LEDs at the front while the alloy wheels would have an all new design. Inside the cabin, the Swift facelift is going to pamper the occupants with exquisite equipments such as one-touch up/down window for the driver, upgraded infotainment system, reverse parking sensors and electrically adjustable outside rear view mirrors with blinkers. Moreover, there would be a few top-notch features like Keyless entry and Engine Start/Stop button to ooze oomph and make the product premium.

The engine options in both the petrol and diesel would remain unchanged as the same 1.2L petrol and 1.3L diesel motors would continue powering the new hatch. The 1.2L, 4-cylinder petrol engine would rake in maximum power of 86bhp at 6200 rpm and top torque of 114 Nm at 4000 rpm. It would be mated to company's conventional 5-speed manual transmission. However, a Team-BHP report confirms that Maruti would also roll out an automatic variant and it seems quite certain, but the company hasn't confirmed the same. On the diesel front, the 1.3L, 4-cylinder motor would be dishing out a maximum power of 74 bhp at 4000 rpm in accordance with a peak torque of 190 Nm at 2000 rpm. It would be paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox with power being transmitted to the front wheels of the hatchback.
