Maruti Suzuki has silently launched the Swift Limited Edition at a sticker price of Rs. 5.44 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom, Delhi) in the country. Being available in both petrol and diesel fuel trims, Maruti Swift Limited Edition would be positioned between LXi/LDi and VXi/VDi grades. The Limited Edition model comes with several cosmetic enhancements both outside as well as inside the cabin while mechanically being the same as the standard variants. The Limited Edition diesel variant is priced at Rs. 6.39 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom, Delhi).

The additional cosmetic kit with the hatchback carries decals which runs through the bonnet, sides, and the roof. Inside the cabin, there are new seat covers with a steering wheel cover as standard. In addition, Maruti Swift Limited Edition also gets a touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Carpet Mats and Speakers with Extra Bass sum up the interior features. Needless to say, the Swift has been the country's one of the best-selling models since its introduction in 2008. However, from the last few months, the sales figures have gone down as the company is all set to launch the new-generation model in February next year. The purpose behind the Limited Edition going on sale could be clearance of existing stocks and push the sales till the all-new 2018 Swift arrives a couple of months later.

Mechanically, the Limited Edition model comes with the same 1.2L K12 petrol and 1.3L DDiS diesel engines. The engines are offered with the same 5-speed manual transmission. The petrol engine delivers a fuel economy of 20.40kmpl, while the diesel motor returns 25.20kmpl (ARAI Specified). The 2018 Auto Expo in February would witness the launch of all-new Maruti Swift, which is expected to enter production at the Gujarat production facility from the second week of January 2018. The prices might go up by Rs. 30,000-80,000 (Ex. Showroom), depending upon the variant as it more advanced and feature rich. 2018 Maruti Swift would take on the likes of Hyundai i20, Honda Jazz, and Volkswagen Polo.
