Maruti Suzuki is all set to launch the NEXA range of premium dealership chain on the coming 23rd July, 2015. Maruti Suzuki will sell the S-Cross through the specialized Nexa dealerships, commissioned specially for the premium Suzuki cars and not through existing dealerships. Maruti Suzuki S-Cross will be joined by the YRA premium hatchback later in the Nexa dealerships.
The Nexa dealership promises a premium and rich experience to the customers. Only a limited number of dealerships under the Nexa brand will be launched. Talking of S-Cross, it will come powered by 2 diesel engine options - a 1.3-litre DDiS unit sourced from Fiat that produces 90 HP and 200 Nm of torque and a 1.6-litre engine that produces 120 HP and 320 Nm of torque. This unit is also sourced from Fiat.
While the 1.3-litre unit is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox, the 1.6-litre unit is mated to the 6-speed manual gearbox. Unlike the global markets, Maruti Suzuki will not offer an all-wheel drive version in India and it will a front drive crossover. The ground clearance is kept 180 mm and 16-inch wheels are provided in the top-spec version for a macho look.
Once launched Maruti Suzuki S-Cross will compete against the soon to be launched and its toughest competitor Hyundai Creta, Ford Ecosport and Renault Duster. Maruti Suzki is expected to price the S-Cross around Rs 8-13 Lakhs!
