Expect the Maruti Vitara Brezza 1.5L SHVS engine to deliver 104.7ps of power and torque of 138Nm.
Exterior and interior refurbishing will be the highlight of the Maruti Vitara Brezza 1.5L SHVS model that is launching next month.
Maruti Vitara Brezza has been a successful model for nearly four years. Now, it is facing fierce competition from the Hyundai Venue that offers exciting new features like Blue Link Technology and powerful engine options. At the same time, Maruti Vitara Brezza does not provide more than one diesel engine option.
Maruti Suzuki has decided that it will not upgrade the 1.3L Fiat-sourced DDiS 200 diesel engine. Though the diesel engine has worked beautifully for Maruti, it is time to upgrade because of the intense competition in the field.
The deadline for BS-VI emission norms is approaching fast, and Maruti Suzuki has already been expanding its BS-VI compliant vehicles since April 2019. Spy images revealed recently that the Vitara Brezza is also getting a facelift.
Maruti Suzuki is planning an updated model of the Vitara Brezza with a new petrol engine, most probably the 1.5L mild-hybrid mill.
The K15B 4-cylinder petrol engine is already available in other Maruti Suzuki models. This engine with SHVS technology can produce 104.7ps or peak power and torque of 138Nm. Maruti Suzuki plans to retain the same engine for the 5-seater new Maruti Vitara Brezza. This petrol engine present in the Ertiga and the XL6 is already BSVI compliant.
The petrol engine mates with a 5-speed manual gearbox as a standard feature or with a 4-speed torque converter automatic transmission system as an option in the Maruti Ertiga.
Along with this new engine, one can expect the new Maruti Vitara Brezza Facelift to come with cosmetic exterior and interior refurbishing that could include the addition of several premium features.
