Maruti Vitara Brezza had its world premiere at the recently concluded 2016 Auto Expo in Greater Noida. It was learnt that the sub compact SUV would be launched in India by the end of March 2016. And, now the Vitara Brezza has been spied undisguised at the company's stockyard, which clearly states that the production has commenced. The bookings for the sub 4-meter SUV are also underway at all the company authorized dealer outlets at Rs. 21,000.
Maruti Vitara Brezza would not be sold via the company's premium NEXA dealerships, instead it would be retailed through regular company dealerships. The spy images show that the sub-compact would be offered in seven exterior colors and in three grades. As known earlier, it would carry the driver airbag as standard safety feature across the entire variant range. The model in white paint scheme appears to be the mid-level VDi trim as it doesn't flaunt projector headlamps and alloy wheels, while the models in Red, Blue and Gold are likely to be the range-topping ZDi variants. They would be available with 16-inch alloy wheels, projector headlights and silver skid plates as standard.
Mechanically, the Vitara Brezza would be launched in diesel fuel trim only. However, petrol variants are also under consideration with the GDI engine, and the company might introduce them at a later stage. The diesel variants would be powered by tried and tested 1.3L, 4-cylinder DDiS motor, which would churn out 89bhp of top power and 200Nm of peak torque. It would be linked to a 5-speed manual transmission. Maruti Vitara Brezza would be challenging the likes of Ford EcoSport and Maruti TUV300, while expected to be coming in a price domain of Rs. 6-9 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom).
