Country’s largest car manufacturer, Maruti Suzuki made one of the best decision by launching the first of its Compact SUV, The Vitara Brezza in the Indian car market on March 8, 2016. Where the company hit a mark of 2,600 bookings in just 24 hours, now the company claims that the number has crossed over 5,600 bookings in just 2 days. Reportedly, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza will have a waiting period up to 6 – 8 weeks.
The Vitara Brezza is produced at Maruti’s Gurgaon facility, where the company had lost on a few days worth of production due to the Jat agitation in Haryana. The Maruti Vitara Brezza compact SUV has been priced between Rs 6.99 lakh to Rs 9.68 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi). The Compact SUV is offered only in diesel engines. The vehicle is available in three seven variants- LDi, LDi (O), VDi, VDi (O), ZDi, ZDi+ and ZDi+ (Dual Tone).
Mechanically the Vitara Brezza is powered by a 1.3-litre DDiS four-cylinder diesel engine that capable of producing 89 BHP @ 4,000 rpm and 200 Nm of torque @ 1,750 rpm. The engine is connected to a 5-speed manual transmission, giving drive to the front axle. The Vitara Brezza offers an incredible fuel consumption 24.3 km/l certified by ARAI, which is a class-leading figure. The company might also introduce an AMT variant in later stages.
The Vitara Brezza also offer safety features like the driver side airbag as standard and speed sensitive door locks as standard, whereas a passenger airbag along with ABS and EBD is optional on the (O) variants and standard on the ZDI variants. The Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza will take on the likes of Ford EcoSport, the Mahindra TUV300 and the upcoming Tata Nexon.
The Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza is most likely to go on sale by the March-end, as the company stated.
