India’s largest car manufacturer, Maruti Suzuki has confirmed that its most anticipated product, the Vitara Brezza compact SUV will launch on March 8 in Mumbai. This upcoming compact SUV made its world premiere at the Auto Expo 2016. An earlier report speculated that the car was going to be launched on 21st of March, but now reports claim that this date is marked for the commencement of Vitara Brezzas’ deliveries.
The company will make its entry in the premium compact SUV segment with the Vitara Brezza and will also be exported to countries like Asia, Africa and Latin America. In India, it will be offered only in diesel variants, while the petrol version will be introduced in Indian market at a later stage of its life cycle. The Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza will be offered in four variants - LDi, VDi, ZDi and ZDi+.
The exterior gets dual-tone contrasting colour scheme on the roof and at the front, where the front fascia features chrome grille with Suzuki logo encased in it. Inside, it features piano finished accents on the dashboard, and interior has been designed to maximize the space for the occupants. This compact SUV will be loaded with a host of comforts like touchscreen infotainment system, Apple CarPlay, multi-function steering wheel, automatic climate control and much more.
Speaking of the engine spec, the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza will be powered by a Fiat sourced 1.3-litre DDIS unit that will produce 90 PS and 200 Nm of peak torque. The unit will be connected to a 5-speed manual transmission. With its compact Size, the brand will count on Brezzas’ lightweight construction so as to compete with likes of Ford EcoSport, which is now installed with a 100 PS engine, sourced from the Figo Aspire compact sedan.
