The hyper expensive RSV4 powered motorcycle from VanderHeide was showcased for the first time at last month’s Goodwood Festival of speed. The motorcycle is expected to hit the market in two versions – the road legal and a track focused version. The road legal version churns out 201bhp and weighs 175kgs but on the other hand the track version comes with carbon fibre chunks and weighs 165kgs dry while pumping out a staggering 230bhp of power from the RSV4 power mill. The latter comes with carbon fibre swing arm and wheels from BST. The package also include Brembo brakes and Motec race instrumental panel. VanderHeide is funded by two brothers, Rolf and Sjors Van der Heide.
The standard version will be available at 1.5 Euros which is equivalent to Rs 1.1 crore and if you want to order one from India this deal will end up costing close to Rs 2 crores. Sjors Van der Heide says “It’s my brother Rolf’s story really. Our father is a motorcyclist and as long as we remember we’ve always wanted to ride them and to build one. Rolf has an engineering background, I have a business administration background. He does all the engineering, I do the talking. That’s the combination. It all started in 2011 when Rolf decided to build his own bike. Before that he worked with Spyker, the supercar brand, and with Carver (makers of a tilting three-wheeled vehicle). After that he specialised in carbon fibre.”
