It was only several days ago when Mercedes-Benz finally took the wraps off the C-Class Coupe and now we get an early look at the range-topping C63 S version which will be revealed in full tomorrow together with the regular C63. These two pictures seem to be taken during an official presentation of the model and show as expected a more aggressive design with a beefier front bumper hosting large air intakes.
It also packs muscular side skirts, “V8 Biturbo” lettering on the front fenders and a trunk-mounted spoiler at the back where there’s the typical quad exhaust setup flanking a diffuser. Its heart and soul is the familiar twin-turbo V8 4.0-liter engine which pumps out a massive 503 bhp and 698 Nm of torque sent to the rear wheels with help from a 7-speed AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT gearbox.
There’s no word just yet regarding the performances of the Mercedes-AMG C63 S but we estimate it will cover the 0-100 kmph run in less than 4 seconds while top speed will likely be electronically-capped at 250 kmph but at an additional cost the limiter will be lifted to somewhere in the region of 290 kmph.
These figures will be applicable for the S version whereas the standard C63 Coupe is set to employ the same engine but with 469 bhp and 648 Nm, so it will be a tad slower than its beefier sibling.
We will have all the details tomorrow when Mercedes-AMG will reveal both versions before bringing them to next month’s Frankfurt Motor Show together with the lesser C-Class Coupe models. Sales will kick off in Europe before the end of the year while India will get the coupes sometime next year.
Following the coupe’s launch, Mercedes-Benz will introduce a C-Class Convertible and there some chances of seeing another body style as rumors say a four-door coupe is in the works.
