Mercedes-Benz India has imported one unit of the GLE 450 AMG Coupe in the country for homologation purposes, reports import-export website Zauba. For those wondering, Mercedes GLE 450 AMG Coupe is basically the re-branded Mercedes GLE 450 AMG Sport Coupe, which is sold at Rs. 86.40 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom) in India. The GLE 450 AMG Coupe follows the German luxury automaker's newest nomenclature. The exorbitant styling of GLC Coupe is the result of amalgamation between a SUV and a coupe.
As for exterior styling, the coupe flaunts Multibeam LED headlamps and LED taillamp cluster. It also gets large air intakes, single-slat diamond radiator grille and 21-inch alloy wheels as part of the AMG body kit. The BMW X6 competitor comes loaded with several exquisite safety feature such as Active Parking Assist, Adaptive Airbags, Attention Assist, and Adaptive High Beam. The cabin is emdedded in dual-tone premium leather, while the GLE 450 AMG Coupe features Mercedes' updated 8-inch COMAND freestanding infotainment system, ambient lighting, and Dynamic Select as standard. Just so you know, the Dynamic Select feature comes with five driving modes: Individual, Comfort, Slippery, Sport and Sport Plus.
Under the hood, Mercedes-AMG GLE 43 Coupe has a 3.0L 6-cylinder V6 bi-turbo petrol engine which develops 367bhp of top power and 520Nm of peak torque. It is married to the Merc's new 9G-TRONIC 9-speed automatic transmission, while the power is being transmitted to all the four wheels via 4MATIC AWD. It sprints from 0-100kmph in merely 5.7 seconds. Mercedes-Benz India has planned a total of 12 launches in 2016 in India, and half of the planned vehicles have already been launched. Currently, it is the numero-uno luxury brand in India with annual sales over 10,000 units.
