Mercedes-Benz India has finally launched AMG GT S at a sticker price of Rs. 2.40 Crore (Ex. Showroom, Delhi) in the country. Being named as the 'World Performance Car of the Year 2015', it is seen as the spiritual successor to the company's SLS AMG. Mercedes-AMG GT S was launched in India by racing icon Bernd Schneider and Roland Folger, Managing Director & CEO, Mercedes-Benz India. Just so you know, AMG GT S is the quickest AMG model in India.
Talking about the exterior appearance of Mercedes-AMG GT S, it flaunts LED headlamps, front splitter in silver chrome and diamond radiator grille with pins in chrome. The supercar has ventilation grille in high-gloss black and sporty front apron with big cooling air intakes. For those asking, the AMG GT S comes with the lightest chassis in its segment with a weight of just 231 kilograms. The German luxury automaker is offering the supercar with 10000+ unique configurations with "Designo" customisattion options. It is available in 7 exterior colors, 6 upholstery options, 4 alloy wheel design options, 3 seat belt color options, 4 trim packages, and 5 optional packages.
Needless to say, Mercedes-AMG GT S boasts of several AMG elements like AMG performance steering wheel in nappa leather, Electronic AMG rear axle differential lock, AMG ride control sport suspension, AMG performance seats, AMG instrument cluster with carbon-fibre-effect backplates and AMG speed sensitive hydraulic steering. Under the hood, the AMG GT S has a hand crafted AMG 4.0L V8 engine. It develops a maximum power of 503bhp and peak torque of 650Nm. Just so you know, with a dry weight of 209 kilograms, the new AMG V8 is the lightest engine in its segment. This engine is linked to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, which tramsits the power to the rear wheels of the supercar.
