Mercedes-Benz India has launched the A-Class facelift at a starting price of Rs. 24.95 Lakhs (Ex-Showroom, Mumbai) in the country. The A-Class facelift is introduced in two variants: 180 Sport and 200 d Sport. It is the German luxury automaker's 15th launch in India in 2015, as a part of its '15 in 15' strategy for the country.
Talking about the exterior styling, Mercedes-Benz A-Class comes with tailpipe trim integrated into the bumper, which makes it look wider than before. Also, the new tail-lamp cluster distinguishes it from the preceding model. The new A-Class will be available in an exclusive ‘Elbaite Green’ colour in addition to attractive colour options like Cirrus White, Jupiter Red, Cosmos Black and Polar Silver. The new A-Class is equipped with a Leather wrapped multifunction steering wheel featuring a 3-spoke design with 12 function buttons as well as a shift lever in leather. The 12 ergonomic function keys on the left of the multifunction steering wheel in leather operate the display menus in the instrument cluster. On the right, the driver can control the volume of audio devices, telephone and navigation system.

The A-Class facelift comes in both petrol and diesel guises. Mercedes-Benz A 180 Sport is powered by a 1.6L, 4-cylinder petrol motor which develops a maximum power of 122bhp at 5000rpm and peak torque of 200Nm between 1250-4000rpm. On the other hand, the diesel derivative - 200 d Sport - gets its power from a 2.2L, 4-cylinder powertrain, which belts out a top power of 136bhp at 3200-4000rpm and highest torque of 300Nm at 1400-3000rpm. Both the engines are combined to a 7-speed dual clutch automatic transmission. For those asking, the A 180 Sport does a 0-100kmph sprint in mere 8.6 seconds, while the A 200 CDI comes with top speed of 210kmph. Both the variants are fully loaded with several top notch safety features such as 6 airbags, ESP, ASR (Acceleration Skid Control), ABS, Brake Assist System, Attention Assist, Hill Start Assist, and Adaptive Brake Lights Flashing.
