Mercedes-Benz would launch the facelift versin of its hatchback A-Class next year globally. Recently, the facelifted A-Class as test mule was spied for the very first time by the folks at World Car Fans. The company showcased the B-Class facelift at the recently concluded 2014 Paris Motor Show and now Mercedes is planning to the unveil the updated A-Class at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show. However, it could be pre-poned as well to the Geneva Motor Show in March, next year.
The spy-shots reveal that it is not a full-fledged facelift version as the vehicle is disguised only at the front bumper, headlamps and tail-lamps. Quite similar to the minor facelifted B-Class, it would also get minimal cosmetic changes at the outside. The captured test mule flaunts a diamond-studded front grille which further suggests that it is possibly the A250 Sport model with front wheel drive system.
It in-houses a 2.0L, 4-cylinder motor which dishes out a maximum power of 211 bhp. It is mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox which enables it to accomplish the 100kmph barrier from standstill in a mere 6.6 seconds while having an electronically limited top speed of 240kmph. The A-Class is the most economical company car in the Indian market and the facelift version too would make its way in the country. It is pitted against the likes of BMW 1-Series, Audi A3 sedan and Volvo V40 Cross Country in India.
