The Bavarian car maker Mercedes-Benz has announced that it will launch a new CLA sedan for India on 30th November. The CLA sedan was launched back in 2014, and it is the first major update the car will get since the launch. The new CLA is expected to get only cosmetic changes, and it will retain all its mechanicals from the existing model.
The overall design will be the same, but it will get a newly designed grille, new alloy wheels, and slightly reworked bumpers. The interior of the sedan will receive major updates with the tweaked Comand infotainment system that is expected to get Apple carplay and Android auto features. The instrument panel, switches and the upholstery is also likely to get some updates.
Under the hood, the car is very unlikely to get an update, and it will continue to get a 2.2 liter diesel engine and a 2.0 liter petrol engine. The diesel engine can churn out 134 bhp of maximum power and 300 nm of maximum torque, while the petrol engine is capable of producing massive power of 181 bhp and the same 300 nm of maximum torque. Both the engines are further connected with 7-speed automatic transmission system that sends power to the wheels of the luxury sedan.
Also one can expect the powerful avatar of the CLA sedan in the near future. The powerful AMG avatar will use a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine that is tuned by Affalterbach. The mill produces massive 355 bhp of maximum power and 450 Nm of peak torque. The engine of the AMG variant is mated to a 7-speed DSG gearbox for brilliant performance.
