Mercedes-Benz EQC Edition 1886 was showcased at the ongoing New York International Auto Show. The all-electric SUV has got some cosmetic changes, a blue-black interior treatment and a Driver Energizing Kit. Rest of the vehicle remains identical to the standard EQC which was showcased in October last year. At the New York International Auto Show, Mercedes-Benzalso showcased its other products as well including the 2019 GLS.
Speaking of the cosmetic tweaks, the EQC Edition 1886 has received a gloss-black finish on the front grille, bigger 20 inchers with white highlights and Edition 1886 badging on the mudguards. The interiors get a blue-black colour finish with Artico leather seats. The 10.25-inch screen works as the instrument cluster and infotainment system, the same unit is also there on the standard EQC.
The Mercedes-Benz EQC Edition 1886 is equipped with a Burmester Surround Sound System and electric seats with memory function. As mentioned above, the Mercedes Benz Energizing driver kit includes fragrancing, mood lights, live traffic update, weather update and driver's wellness monitoring system. This kit is also available on the standard EQC. Both the standard and Edition 1886 EQC are powered by a dual-motor electric powertrain with a capacity of churning out 407 bhp.
The buyers of Mercedes-Benz EQC Edition 1886 will also get access to Ionity - a pan-European high power charging network. Ionity assists electric vehicles in long-distance tours. Mercedes-Benz is likely to introduce the standard EQC in India by 2020 and it is also planning to assemble the EV here in India. As the Edition 1886 is a limited run model, we will have to wait to see if Mercedes-Benz also introduces this in the Indian market.
