Mercedes-Benz, the Stuggart-based luxury automaker, would launch the performance oriented GLA 45 AMG on October 27 in India. The company had already launched the GLA crossover a few days back in the country, and needless to say, it generated quite a hype amidst the auto enthusiasts. The performance based AMG variant would boast several cosmetic as well as mechanical upgrades in reference to the regular GLA crossover.

Talking about the cosmetic changes, the Mercedes-Benz GLA 45 AMG would be flaunting a more aggressive front grille along with newly designed bumper. It would have redesigned 19-inch alloys in accordance with bright red brake calipers. At the rear, it would be comprising of quad exhausts and a diffuser. Inside the cabin, it is pretty much the same sans multiple subtle changes. The front seats are more comfortable and sporty as compared to the regular GLA Class. Also, the under-thigh support which was lacking in the GLA crossover is taken care off well. The big steering wheel in GLA has been replaced by a new flat-bottomed steering. The steering mounted stalk, seen in the regular GLA, has gone for a toss in favour of a more traditional gear level. Additionally, sporty red seatbelts are on offer with contrast stitching on the dash.

Under the hood, GLA 45 AMG has a 2.0L, 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine which is also present in the 'Pocket Rocket' CLA 45 AMG. It churns out a massive power of 355bhp and peak torque of 449Nm. It is paired with a 7-speed automatic transmission which disburses the power evenly to all the four wheels of the crossover via Merc's all-wheel-drive system. As known, the regular GLA Class comes with front-wheel drive only. Since, it is performance based AMG version, so price is expected to be as high as around Rs. 75 Lakhs. (Ex. Showroom, Delhi).
