Mercedes-Benz India has launched the GLE 400 4Matic at a sticker price of Rs. 74.90 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom, New Delhi) in the country. The GLE 400 4MATIC is the 7th model to be launched this year by the Indian arm of German luxury automaker. The SUV will be initially available as a CBU, while the local production will follow later in the year. This is the first time that the company is launching the petrol variant in the GLE. So now, Mercedes-Benz GLE has 4 variants in India: GLE 250d, GLE 350d, GLE 400 and the AMG GLE 450 Coupe.
Mercedes-Benz GLE 400 4Matic gets several high-end premium features like Full LED Headlamps with Intelligent Light System, Electric sunroof, Memory package for driver and front passenger, Parking package with Active Parking Assist and 360° camera, Mirror package with brand logo projection etc. to name a few. In addition, the SUV also comes with an array of contemporary systems in form of AIRMATIC suspension with Adaptive Dampening System, 8-inch COMAND Online infotainment sytem with New Generation Telematics, Apple CarPlay, Harman Kardon Logic 7 surround sound system, Crosswind Assist, Attention Assist, and Active Parking. The DYNAMIC SELECT feature, which comprises of five modes: Comfort, Sport, Slippery, Individual and Off-road, is also offered as standard with the GLE 400.

Mercedes-Benz GLE 400 4Matic boasts of 6-airbags for driver and passenger protection, i.e., adaptive front airbags, side bags for driver and front passenger and also window air bags between A, B and C-pillars. Under the hood, there is a 3.0L V6 petrol engine which churns out 333bhp of top power and 480Nm of peak torque. It is linked to the 7-speed 7G-TRONIC PLUS automatic transmission. The SUV has a top speed of 247kmph. With the launch of the GLE 400, the customers now have a choice between petrol and diesel variants. The GLE has been an outright bestseller SUV for Mercedes-Benz in India. It was introduced by Roland Folger, Managing Director and CEO, Mercedes-Benz India and will be available across Mercedes-Benz dealerships. The company also said that it intends to complete the petrol product portfolio by September, 2016 in India.
