Mercedes-Benz India has announced the launch of GLE 450 AMG Coupé on January 12, 2016 in the country. Just so you know, the Mercedes Benz GLE 450 AMG Coupe had its world premiere last month. Basically, the GLE Coupe is the sportier derivative of the GLE SUV. The GLE 450 AMG Coupe would be retailed as CBU in India, while it lock horns with the BMW X6.
As far as exterior styling is concerned, the Mercedes GLE 450 AMG Coupe flaunts a single-slat grille and LED headlamps at the front. However, the most eye-catching designing element remains to be the swooping roofline that ends at the S-Class coupe-esque rear end. The GLE AMG Coupe rides on 21-inch wheels, while coming with plastic body cladding, chrome embeddings and dual exhaust system as standard features. As for the cabin, it is pretty identical to standard GLE as it boasts of carbonfibre trim, nappa leather-wrapped sports steering wheel, sport seats, stainless steel pedals and the updated COMAND infotainment system.
Mechanically, the GLE 450 AMG Coupe is powered by a 3.0L, V6 twin-turbocharged petrol motor. This engine develops a maximum power of 362bhp and peak torque of 520Nm. It is linked to a 9-speed automatic transmission with five driving modes on offer: Comfort, Slippery, Sport, Sport+ and Individual. By selecting upon each mode, the chassis, suspension, steering wheel and engine settings get modulated. Also, the engine sound and driving lights are modulated. Just so you know, Mercedes Benz GLE 450 AMG Coupe sprints to 100kmph from standstill in just 5.7 seconds, while power is evenly disbursed to all the four wheels. The coupe is expected to attract a sticker price of at least Rs. 1 Crore (Ex. Showroom).
