German luxury carmaker, Mercedes Benz India has reported a 25 per cent increase in sales in the first half of 2014 with total sales of 4,717 units. The company has attributed the commendable sales growth to the flagship S-Class sedan and the ML-Class SUV and also, to the NGC or New Generation of Cars portfolio, which comprises of the A-Class and the B-Class Sports Tourer.
The top-sellers for Mercedes Benz India however, continue to be the C-Class and the E-Class luxury sedans. The ever-expanding range of AMG models too, have contributed to the sales figures of the company.
With total sales of 4,717 units sold in the first half of the current year, Mercedes Benz India is said to be closing on the lead taken by German rival Audi - who refuses to disclose its sales figure for the said period. Industry analysts however, are of of the opinion that Audi India may have raked in sales of a little over 5,000 units in the January to June period.

With some of the most fascinating products lined up in the remaining two quarters, including the much awaited GLA-Class, Mercedes Benz is all set for another year of strong growth.”
