Continuing with the AMG product onslaught in India, Mercedes Benz has rolled out the all-new ML63 AMG in the country today with prices starting at Rs 1.49 crore (ex-showroom, New Delhi.) The highly potent ML63 AMG is now the seventh model with the coveted AMG tag to debut in India after the C63, G63, E63, SLS, SLK55 and the GL63. Furthermore, the German automaker has also officially inaugurated the brand new AMG Performance Centre in the capital - the first-ever such facility in the country, where the launch of the ML63 AMG got underway.

Powering the lethal ML63 AMG is a massive 5.5-litre, bi-turbo V8 engine that is capable of churning out 518PS of max power and a colossal 760Nm of peak torque. The engine comes mated to a 7G-Tronic AMG Speedshift transmission. The 0 to 100 kmph mark is reached in 4.7 seconds with an electronically limited top speed of 250 kmph. The top speed can be upped to 280 kmph with the optional AMG Driver’s package.

On the outside, the ML63 sports the AMG body bit, three-pointed star logo, B8 bi-turbo badges on the flanks, projector headlamps, LED daytime running lights, LED fog lamps and a 20-inch AMG-spec wheels. At the back, the SUV gets wrap-around LED tail lamps, mesh rear air dam, quad chrome finish exhaust pipes and a rear spoiler.

On the inside, the model features premium leather seats with memory function, climate control with multi-zone temperature control, infotainment system and wireless communication for Bluetooth-enabled devices among others. The SUV features tri-coloured interior lighting scheme that illuminates doors, front and rear seats and the centre console. In the Indian market, the Mercedes Benz ML63 AMG will rival the likes of Range Rover Sport V8 and the Porsche Cayenne Turbo and will be brought into the country via the CBU route.

The AMG Performance Centre in New Delhi is the 375th one worldwide and will be used as a hub for all the AMG events in India. The facility has experts trained in sales and service at the AMG headquarters in Germany. More such AMG Performance Centre will be coming up in India in due course.
