Mercedes-Benz India, now is the largest luxury car manufacturer in the country and to continue with sales growth, Mercedes India has planned to launch 12 new cars this year. Mercedes-Benz India is all set to celebrate 20 years in India with the launch of a special variant of the E-Class, dubbed as Edition E, on Feb.24.
According to the company, the E-class was the first car model sold by Mercedes-Benz in India and is the highest selling luxury sedan till now. Commemorating the completion of Mercedes Benz’ 20 years in the country, the new E-Class Edition E will be manufactured at the company’s plant in Chakan near Pune. Just to add to your knowledge, the E-Class Edition E variant is a based on the existing E-Class on sale in India. And is the MY16 variant which was launched back in June 2015 in the country.
The Mercedes Benz E-Class Edition E E200 and E250 CDI has already been launched in Malaysia last year, it comes with 18 inches larger alloys, Edition E emblem on the outside and inside, larger front discs, Mercedes-Benz lettering on the brake callipers, illuminated three-pointed star on the front grille, AMG body kit, including redesigned front and rear bumpers, side skirts with dual exhaust tip finishers, side skirts, AMG-inspired steering wheel, and much more.
Speaking of the engine lineup, the Edition E is expected to be offered in both petrol and diesel version. The Mercedes-Ben E 200 will be powered by a 2.0-litre petrol engine that produces 182 PS and 300 Nm of torque, while the E 250 CDI is powered by a 2.1-litre diesel engine that will churn out 204 PS and 500 Nm of torque. Both the engine will be connected to a 7-speed automatic gearbox. The Edition E will get some feature upgrades as compared to its existing model.
