Mercedes is riding high on its recent Forrnula1 success after they won their first ever FIA Formula 1 World Constructors Championship title. They also completed 120 rich years of Motorsports recently. The timing called for something special and so did Mercedes made the occasion special. Mercedes-Benz India organized a Classic Car rally bringing out cars from the iconic era representing the best of Mercedes' heritage and vintage models.
The location chose was equally classic, starting from NCPA Nariman Point, where the cars gathered for a display, going up to Peddar Road, Horniman Circle and the iconic Bandra-Worli Sea Link. The rally witnessed the best of heritage Mercedes with the likes of Pontons, S-Class, SL models and W-series models. Matching the mammoth of classic cars were the new age AMG series with SLS AMG, ML63 AMG, SLK55 AMG and CLA45 AMG, marking their presence.
Speaking on the occasion, Eberhard Kern, Managing Director and CEO, Mercedes-Benz India, said, “Motorsport is fascinating and fun. Its energy, excitement and ever-changing narrative delights millions. Motorsport also brings people together – in peace and transcending all national borders. Mercedes-Benz’s 120 Years of Motorsport history showcases a unique kaleidoscope of glittering success in different motor racing categories. Our celebration today is even more special because this year Mercedes-Benz has won its first FIA F1 ‘World Constructor’s Championship. This victory is an outcome of years of hard work, unsurpassable commitment and technological prowess by our team of engineers’.”

Today we showcased some of the most iconic cars ever built by the brand which have been a visual treat for the enthusiasts to see these immaculate and timeless cars being driven around Mumbai.”
Only a handful of manufacturers boasts of a rich Motorsports history as the Mercedes does. Starting from the 1894, Mercedes is involved in Motorsports till date, and they are pretty successful at it. The recent F1 constructors' title is a proof of their constant endeavor to bring in innovative technologies to the sport. Mercedes is only on the verge of winning the 2014 Drivers’ title, with both its drivers, Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton, fighting hard to win.
