Mercedes Benz seems to have found a big winner in its compact yet stylish sedan, the CLA. The company recently revealed that it has managed to sell over 1 lakh units of this car globally ever since its launch in April 2013, making it one of the best selling cars for Mercedes in a while. Mercedes had launched the powerful AMG-version of this car in July this year at a price of Rs 68.50 lakh(ex-showroom, Delhi). The car has a 2-litre turbo-charged petrol engine with over 360bhp, making it the most powerful four cylinder production engine in the world.

According to Ola Kallenius, Member of the Divisional Board Mercedes-Benz Cars, the 100,000 CLA and altogether 800,000 new compact models (which includes the A-class, B-class, GLA and CLA) that the company have sold are a clear testament to the fact that Mercedes’ new product offensive is hitting the right direction.

Mercedes will be launching the GLA-compact SUV and the regular CLA sedan in India in within this calendar year and both cars are expected to be competitively priced.
