It is impressive how the sales figure of the German manufacturer, Mercedes has been rising over the past. To mark such a sales figure feat, the company has launched the Edition C celebration edition, which is special edition of the C-Class model. The new launch was to honour and celebrate the sales of 10 million C-Class around the world since its launch. Mercedes Benz first launched the car way back in 1993 and currently the car is in its third generation.
The Edition C is based on the C220 CDI and to maintain its exclusivity, the production will be limited to only 500 units. Mercedes has made the already good looking C-Class even better with AMG inspired body styling. The limited edition car gets high-gloss finish for the radiator grille and 2-tone shiny black finish on the huge 17-inch 5-spoke alloy wheels. The elegant LED headlamps get a darker tint to make it more aggressive and also the badges holding Edition C on the either side of the front wheel arch!
Inside, the limited edition C-Class Edition C gets special sporty seats, electric sunroof, navigation system, ambient lighting and a Nappa leather wrapped steering wheel! As the car will be available only in one trim, Mercedes has planted the 2.2-litre diesel unit which churns out a maximum power of 170 bhp and 400 Nm of maximum torque. The power is transmitted to the wheels through a 7-speed automatic gearbox. There are no mechanical changes done to the engine, so it still does 0 to 100 km/h in 8.1 seconds.
Onboard safety features include A0nti-lock Braking System (ABS), traction control, ASR, adaptive brakes and airbags.
The C Class Edition C would come with a price tag of Rs. 39.16 lakh Ex-Showroom, Mumbai.
