Mercedes-Benz India launched the new Maybach S650 at the Auto Expo 2018. The Maybach S650 has been priced at Rs 2.73 Crores (Ex showroom). In addition, the S560 has also been launched at an introductory price of Rs. 1.94 Crores (Ex. Showroom). The Mercedes-Maybach S 650 is a classic proportions, among other features, with highlights which include the dynamic silhouette with coupé-like soft top and the dropping line along the side which slopes down towards the rear.
The Maybach S650 is a successor of the S600 Maybach and dons the same design updates as seen in the S-Class facelift. The face gets a revised grille, tri-split LED headlamps with with 'Ultra Range High Beam'and bumpers. Going by the side profile, the Maybach 650 is as long as 5.4-meters, while at the rear, its re-designed bumpers along with taillamps. Not to forget, the double M badges on the side as well as ‘Maybach’ badging and model specific alloy wheels this car rides on.
Inside, It now gets more plush of the one seen on the S-Class. The new S-Class is characterised by the two new high-resolution displays, each with a screen diagonal of 12.3 inches. Visually, the two displays under one shared glass cover blend into a wide-screen cockpit and a leather dashboard along with wooden inserts. At rear row, you get powered executive seats, which are also wrapped in premium Nappa leather. What else you get inside is a Burmester 3D surround sound system, rear seat entertainment system, four-zone automatic climate control, ventilated front seats with massage function and a 3-zone / 64-colour ambient lighting system. Some other features that would be offered on the S650 are powered tailgate (handsfree open and close), soft-close doors and an Air Balance fragrance, ambient lighting, Energising Comfort Control system which coordinates the climate control, audio system, massaging driver seat and heated armrests for an unrivalled interior experience.
In terms of safety, the Mercedes-Maybach S650 comes packed with 9 airbags, active suspension, adaptive braking with torque converting brakes, attention assist, parking assist and blind spot assist. Other features offered are active brake assist, steering assist, radar-based active cruise control and a surround view system which uses footage from all four cameras.
Under the hood, the Mercedes-Maybach S650 is powered by a on the 6.0-litre biturbo V12 engine with an output of 621 bhp of maximum power and 1000Nm of top torque. Power transmission to the rear axle comes via 7G-TRONIC, while the AIRMATIC suspension with steplessly variable damping control ensures a special driving sensation.
