Mercedes-Benz is back with a good news for luxury hatchback lovers, as the brand has finally confirmed the launch of the Mercedez A-Class facelift on 8th December 2015. Thus making India amongst the first few markets where the model has been launched. The A-class facelift gets a mild cosmetic and mechanical updates, and probably won’t alter the Powertrain of the hatchback.

Speaking about the looks, Mercedes A-Class facelift is offered with redesigned front and rear bumpers, optional LED headlights, taillight highlighting new LED bands in it, and new allow wheel patterns. Inside, the hatchback is updated with a new 8-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, MirrorLink, new upholstery and trim colors and a new three-spoke steering wheel and few of these updates are already in the Mercedes CLA in India.

The A-Class facelift for the Indian market will be offered with the same 1.6-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine mated with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission will produce 118 bhp and 200 Nm of torque and the 2.1-litre four-cylinder diesel engine mated with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission will churn out 132 bhp and 300 Nm of torque.

Since June 2013,  the A-Class is still imported through the CBU route, Whereas the newer NGC (New Generation Compact) cars like the GLA and CLA is being built in its assembly line at Mercedes-Benz India’s Chakan plant in Pune.
