Mercedes-Benz India is riding on an all-time high after the launch of their luxury hatchbacks, the A-class and the B-class. To celebrate the success of these models, Mercedes-Benz India is set to launch their special editions, which until now were speculated to be called as ‘Celebration Editions’. But as it turns out, the models will be called A-class Edition 1 and B-class Edition 1. Like most other Mercedes-Benz cars sold globally with a similar suffix, the Edition 1 package adds new features to the diesel variants of the A-class and the B-class. They are listed as follows:

-        Electrically adjustable front passenger seat

-        Centre armrest for rear seat

-        Rear entertainment package with individual screens (B-class only)

-        Gloss black finish for the outside rear view mirrors

-        New alloy wheel designs for the A-class and B-class respectively

-        Edition 1 badges and decals on the interior and exterior respectively

-        Panoramic sunroof (previously available only on the petrol variant)

-        Reversing parking camera (previously available only on the petrol variant)

Apart from these added features, the A-class and B-class also get a new suspension setup with a slightly raised height. This not only helps the cars tackle undulations and potholes better than the current A- and B-class, but also improves ride quality. The A-class Edition 1 and the B-class Edition 1 will be launched later this month and will come at a premium over the existing cars.
