Mercedes-Benz India has announced a price revision on its complete range of cars from 1st January, 2014. The price revision will take the prices of Mercedes Cars higher by upto 10%. Mercedes-Benz rivals Audi and BMW have already announced the price hike on all their models in India.
Challenging market situation and economic slowdown are the reasons that compelled the luxury carmakers to hike prices of all their models. However, Mercedes Benz hasn't reasoned the price hike.
Mr. Eberhard Kern, Managing Director & CEO, Mercedes-Benz India commented, “Mercedes-Benz stands out for its iconic luxury offerings and continues to be admired for its complete luxury product experience. A fantastic year of offensive focus has helped us achieve tremendous success in India despite challenging market conditions and we will continue to build on our success by further enhancing our after-sales programmes, dealer network and customer support. As market dynamics continue to evolve we are committed to offer the best luxury experience and delight our valued customers.”
This year has been a great one for Mercedes Benz in India as the company continued to do well in terms of sales, and left BMW India behind to grab the second stop in the luxury car market of the country. The cars that really did well this year for Mercedes Benz India are new A-Class, B-Class and E-Class.
Now when the 2014 Indian Auto expo is just two months away, the German auto major is planning to display a couple of new cars at the event. Mercedes Benz GLA and CLA class are two products that are expected to be unveiled at the expo.
