Mercedes-Benz India has unveiled its three new products at the Auto Expo 2014 - the CLA 45 AMG, the European production model of GLA and the M-Guard. The theme of the Mercedes-Benz' s pavilion was based on 'Excellence' featuring thirteen other interesting products.
The CLA 45 AMG has a 2.0-litre turbo engine, with a maximum power of 360 hp and a peak torque of 450 Nm. It has the most powerful turbocharged four-cylinder engine in its segment in the world. Other highlights include the gravity-die sandcast all-aluminum crankcase, weight-optimized crank assembly with forged steel crankshaft and forged piston with friction-optimized piston rings, NANOSLIDE cylinder wall technology, air-to-water intercooler, alternator management and ECO start/stop function.
The GLA-Class has dynamic styling with clear benefits for recreational use and marks a new approach for Mercedes-Benz for this burgeoning segment in India. The GLA-Class has muscular and imposing appearance with a silver-shadow for material authenticity, resulting in a metallic finish with a "cool-touch" effect. The dashboard is divided into two sections, allowing surface structure that are different in look and feel. The three-dimensional trim section finished in aluminium lends a new, modern touch to the interior.
The Mercedes-Benz M-Guard is the luxury SUV which the company's integrated special protection design principle. The M-Guard meets the requirement of protection level VR4 according to testing guidelines BRV 2009 for special-protection vehicles with bullet resistance.
It has an impressive ride comfort, great agility and extraordinary active safety of its series-production counterparts. The standard variant features as standard are an AIRMATIC air suspension system with Adaptive Damper System (ADS) specially adapted to the vehicle's special protection features. Apart from the specific ballistic tests carried out by Ballistic Bureau in Ulm, the M-Guard has to pass a detailed test programme like its series-production counterparts. There trails mimic everyday operating conditions, exceeding these parameters by a large factor in many cases.
The M-Guard will be priced at Rs. 2.49 Crores, ex-showroom Delhi.
Mercees-benz also displayed products ranging from the A-Class to the S-Class and the popular W04 team car of Mercedes AMG PETRONAS F1 team. The '2014 Year of Excellence' will see 10 new product launches in Indian market focusing on the top end luxury segment.
At the Auto Expo 2013, Mercedes-Benz also showcased its latest technologies like Google hangouts and Google On-Demand making it accessible to millions on the web.
