Mercedes redefined the definition of ultra-luxury today by launching the 2014 S-Class in India. The W222 or the 2014 S-Class carries many new changes over the previous generation while the car has been built around only one idea – Luxury! The S-Class is the flagship from the Mercedes Benz brand and sure it depicts the brilliance of German engineering.
The new S-Class cars redesigned grille, new bumpers, full LED headlights and the fog lamps too gets the LED treatment. The front of the car gives a feel of being premium and at the same time, the car looks aggressive. From the side, the car looks drop-dead gorgeous, with the dropping roof line, which German engineers termed as swooping roof. The Mercedes Benz S-Class is pure elegance and everything looks so inviting about the vehicle.
In a bid to give the car an all new look, Mercedes Benz gave an all new look to the cabin too. The traditional instrument cluster is replaced with two new large color displays and an elegant two-spoke steering wheel. The S-Class carries all the latest and greatest with itself. The cabin has been lit beautifully with 300 hidden LED lamps and takes the luxury to a different level.
Even though in the international markets, S-Class has been powered by a number of hybrid engines, in the India, the S-Class comes only with a 4.7-litre dual-turbo V8 mill that churns out a maximum power output of 460bhp and 700Nm of peak torque.
With a price tag of Rs 1.57 crore (ex-showroom, Delhi) in India, S-Class is definitely not cheap – the reason can be blamed on the taxes that government charges because the S-Class is imported as a Completely Built Unit (CBU), in India. Even with such a price tag, the 2014 S-Class is the best luxury car, money can buy for you!
