MG Hector SUV sales figures have overtaken Tata Harrier and Jeep Compass.
MG Hector SUV alone has sold 1508 models in the corresponding period.
MG Hector SUV, the latest entrant into the Indian market, steals the show by overtaking Tata Harrier and Jeep Compass in the sales figures for July 2019. The primary reason is that the MG Hector SUV price is less than that of the Tata Harrier and Jeep Compass by Rs 80,000 and Rs 3 Lakhs respectively. Hence, MG Hector SUV sales figure for July 2019 is 1508 units as compared to 740 for the Tata Harrier and 590 for the Jeep Compass.
MG Hector SUV owes this success to the excellent features that are far better than that of the Tata Harrier and Jeep Compass. Tata Harrier features a 7-inch TFT MID coloured screen, but MG Hector’s i-Smart Unit with 100+ voice-controlled features scores over everything else. The car features an integrated e-SIM totally independent of the user’s smartphone.
The Tata Harrier specs include automatic headlights, LED DRLs, automatic wipers, LED tail lamps, and projector headlamps. The 14-function ESP, along with the multi-driving modes, goes on to enhance the engine output depending on the road conditions.
MG Hector SUV is available in both petrol and diesel variants, as compared to the diesel version of the Tata Harrier. The MG Hector SUV engine pairs with a 6-speed manual transmission system. Besides, MG Hector has a 48V mild-hybrid tech variant to offer.
The Tata Harrier diesel engine is a 2-litre KRYOTEC engine from Fiat. Even though the engine is the same in MG Hector and the Compass, the Harrier engine delivers 138hp and a torque of 350Nm, as opposed to 170hp in the MG Hector. The Tata Harrier works on a standard 6-speed manual transmission system.
