MG Hector made its launch on June 27, 2019, and the SUV received an overwhelming response, where it garnered 21,000 bookings in just 20 days. MG Motors opened bookings on July 4, 2019, and since then country’s first internet car has already bagged this much numbers. For this, the brand has temporarily suspended the bookings for the model, as they are already filled with the orders for this year. The British carmaker would soon announce the re-opening of the bookings.
MG Motors has already made up its mind to increase the production capacity in the coming few months. MG Hector is rolled out from company’s Halol facility in Gujarat, where it will increase the production capacity to 3000 unit monthly, starting from October this year. MG Motors India has worked with its suppliers in order to increase the production of the parts gradually, maintaining the quality of the spares as the same. MG Motors claims that Smart & Sharp has received the highest demand of all-around 50 percent for the MG Hector petrol variants.
Speaking of the MG Hector Specification, the SUV is offered in both petrol and diesel fuel disguise along with a 48V mild-hybrid variant, which is available on the petrol version only. The petrol variant gets a 1.5-litre unit that produces 141 bhp of maximum with 250 Nm of torque that will come paired with either a six-speed DCT or manual transmission. The diesel variant comes with a Fiat-sourced, four-cylinder, 2.0-litre motor that makes 168 bhp of maximum power with 350 Nm of top torque, where this unit comes coupled to a six-speed manual transmission only.
