MG Motors is all set to launch its most anticipated SUV - Hector in India and the MG Hector price revealing is scheduled on June 27, 2019. The SUV earlier unveiled in the month of May and the company has already started accepting the bookings for the Hector SUV.
In terms of equipment, the MG Hector would boast of many segment-first such as internet connectivity through a SIM card along with 50 in-built features (like Geofencing, remote operations for AC, sunroof, doors, and more), OTA (over-the-air) update, 48V mild-hybrid technology compbi9ned with petrol engine, 10.4-inch HD touchscreen for entertainment, 360-degree parking camera, satellite navigation system with many in-built apps like Gaana, AccuWeather and more; all five passengers seats with three-point seat belts, front parking sensors, heated outside rearview mirrors, powered tailgate and co-driver seat, etc., to name a few.
Mechanically, the MG Hector SUV will be offered with three engine choices – a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine that makes 141 bhp with 250 Nm of top torque, a petrol-Hybrid version with the same engine with a belt starter generator making same power output and this is 12 percent more economical in terms of fuel consumption and also adds 20 Nm of additional torque, compared to the regular petrol version; and the diesel unit is a Fiat-sourced 2.0-litre turbocharged engine that makes 170 bhp with 350 Nm of peak torque. The transmission duties will be carried by a 6-speed manual transmission as standard all the engine choices and a 6-speed DCT will also come as an offering on the regular petrol version. The MG Hector mileage for petrol version comes out to be 14.16 kmpl with manual transmission and 13.96 kmpl with automatic transmission, whereas the hybrid version gets a fuel economy of 15.81 kmpl and the diesel unit returns a good fuel efficiency of 17.41 kmpl.
In India, the MG Hector SUV would pounce against the Jeep Compass, Hyundai Creta, Tata Harrier, Mahindra XUV500 and the upcoming Kia Seltos SUV. The MG hector price is expected to fall in a range of Rs 15 lakh to Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom).
