MG Motor India has launched the all-electric MG ZS SUV in the Indian market.
The MG ZS EV price in India is Rs 20.88 Lakhs (ex-showroom).
The MG ZS comes in two variants, Excite and Exclusive.
After launching its first SUV, MG Hector, the MG Motor India has now launched its first all-electric SUV, MG ZS EV in the Indian market at a price point of Rs 20.88 lakhs (ex-showroom). The primary 1000 customers, who have already made the MG ZS EV bookings, just have to pay Rs 19.88 lakhs (Rs 1 lakh lesser). For now, the MG ZS SUV will be available on sale in only 5 cities - Delhi-NCR, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, and Hyderabad.
Available in Excite and Exclusive variants, the MG ZS EV comes with exciting exteriors like automatic projector headlamps along with LED Daytime Running Lights, 17-inch alloy wheels, and an electronic parking brake. Being priced at Rs 23.58 lakhs, the MG ZS EV top variant gets leatherette seats, panoramic sunroof, rain-sensing wipers, and PM 2.5 filter within the cabin.
Coming to the MG ZS EV interior features, the SUV boasts of the 8-inch infotainment system, power-adjustable driver seat, tyre pressure monitoring system, keyless entry/go, iSmart EV 2.0, embedded SIM card, real-time maps along with TomTom charging locator station, Ganna App as well as Accuweather (that gives the weather information).
The MG ZS EV safety features are hill-start assist, ABS, ESC, six airbags, rear parking sensors and camera, and hill-descent control.
The MG electric SUV is powered by a 44.5kWh liquid-cooled battery that churns out 143 hp power and 353 Nm torque, and it comes mated with a single-speed automatic transmission. The electric MG ZS accelerates from 0-100 kmph in just 8.5 seconds. The MG ZS EV mileage is expected to be around 340 km (As per ARAI). Speaking of the drive modes, it comes with three drive modes as well as three-level’ regenerative braking.
MG Motor India has installed the 50kW DC fast chargers across the five cities at some of its dealerships that can charge the battery from 0 to 80% within 50 minutes. People can avail of this free charging facility for a limited time only. The company is planning to develop charging stations in a few satellite towns.
Similar to the MG Shield package of MG Hector, the ZS SUV too gets an eShield package that extends the free five-year/unlimited-kilometre manufacturer vehicle warranty as well as 8-year/1,50,000 km lithium-ion battery warranty. In addition, the eShield also includes 24/7 RSA (Roadside Assistance) for five years, applicable to private buyers only.
The MG ZS EV will directly compete with the likes of Hyundai Kona Electric and soon with the Tata Nexon EV on the lower segment.
