MINI Countryman’s Local Production Started  at Chennai Plant by BMW

BMW, the leader in the manufacturing sector in the automotive industry has come up with a great and exciting news for India. The British company has decided to start its local assembly in India at its own plant located in Chennai. Assembly of luxury Mini Countryman will commence very soon. The year 2012 marked its success with the introduction of Mini brand at the Auto Expo. One year later, the Decided off to start the assembly oh Mini locally here in India. With this decision, the British company is starting its assembly line for the first time outside Europe.

For the first time , Mini Countryman will be assembled locally here. There are two variants of the luxury car. The diesel variants which are available in India are Mini Cooper-D Countryman and Mini Cooper-D Countryman High. It is reported that the new Mini One Countryman will be available in petrol version which will be assembled in Chennai. The other petrol models of the famous Mini countryman like Mini Cooper-S Countryman and Mini Cooper-S Countryman High will be imported from outside as CBUs. Mini Brand has its operation all over the globe in 100 nations and Indian market stand in 100th place as they have extended their service. There are 5 outlets of Mini since 2012 spread over Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore and Hyderabad.The company also plans to open a number of dealerships and outlets in other parts of the country specially Pune, Kolkata and Chennai. With the manufacturing of the brand, the number of outlets will increase as well.

It is expected that the locally assembled Mini Countryman will hit the Indian market and will generate huge revenues. For the first time, Mini Brand is packaged outside Europe. The Indian MD of BMW, Robert Frittrang expressed his happiness about the news.  He expects the company will definitely make huge profits as India is the people’s mindset has changed. They are moving towards the luxury segment  and SUVs. The locally assembled Mini One Countryman with petrol version will be available with a starting price of 23,50,000 INR while Mini Cooper-D Countryman High will start with 28,90,000 INR.
