Suzuki Motor Corporation Japan launched its new mini-crossover Hustler on Tuesday, though the deliveries of the car will start from January 8th, 2014. With the launch, the company aims at selling 5,000 Hustlers per month.
According to the company, the mini-crossover is a combination of a car and a sport utility vehicle (SUV). Hustler is a tall city car with some styling cues from SUVs like the dark grey cladding on the bumpers and wheel arches mated well with car's roomy and comfortable interiors. The car comes with eleven different color combinations with option of contrast roof and body colors.
“We want customers to use the vehicle for having fun and adventures,” said, Osamu Suzuki, Chairman Suzuki Motor Corp.
Being a 'kei' car, the Hustler is powered by a small three-cylinder, 660 cc engine. The small unit outputs 52 PS at 6,000 rpm and 63 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm mated to a five-speed manual transmission for the base variant. While, a 660 cc turbocharged engine producing 64 PS and 95 Nm of torque mated to an automatic transmission, has been offered with the upper variant.
Both the variants of Hustler offers 2WD and 4WD option and delivers a fuel efficency, ranging from 25 kmpl to 26.8 kmpl depending on the type of drive. Price of the mini-crossover starts from 1.048 million Yen (INR 6.18 lakhs) and goes upto to 1.334 million Yen (INR 7.89 lakhs).
