Mitsubishi is all set to launch the third generation Outlander SUV in Indian market soon. Ahead of the SUV’s launch here, the Japanese brand has started receiving bookings for the model. Interestingly, the move comes after the brand announced its launch strategy for Indian market back in August 2017. The India-spec model is expected to be the seven-seater variant and it will challenge the Toyota Fortuner and Ford Endeavour.

The SUV is expected to be launched in August this year and it could be priced aggressively between Rs. 21 lakh and Rs. 24 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi). No wonder, this would boost the brand’s lackluster sales performance in the country market. The third generation Mitsubishi Outlander wears the brand’s latest design theme. It sports a large X shaped front grille with chrome garnishing, sharp headlamps with LED projector units and integrated LED daytime running lights. A muscular bumper with LED fog lamps and thick skid plate add zing to the SUV.

It runs on large sporty wheels and has a ground clearance of 190 mm. There are sharp eye-catching LED taillights, chunky rear bumper with skid plate. The car has already earned good response in the global market and Mitsubishi expects to replicate that success in the domestic market as well. Inside the cabin, this seven-seater car gets a wide range of upmarket features, ample space and comfort on offer for the occupants.

Power source for the Mitsubishi Outlander is going to be a 2.4-litre 4B12 MIVEC petrol engine coupled with a CVT. Power will be sent to all the four wheels using the 4WD system. The engine is capable of churning out around 168 bhp of peak power at 6,000 rpm and 222 Nm of peak torque at 4,100 rpm. It can reach 0-100 kmph in 11.1 seconds.
