Mitsubishi Motors launched the limited edition Pajero Sport with dual-tone color shade a few days back and needless to say, it received an overwhelming response from the prospective buyers. The dual-tone edition was offered in Lemon Yellow/White and Flame Red/White combinations. It is being priced at Rs. 23.99 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom, Mumbai), which is around Rs. 40,000 higher than the regular variants.
Hindustan Motors Finance Corporation Ltd. (HMFCL), which manufactures and builds Mitsubishi vehicles in the country, said that the new color combinations has attracted a lot of customers across the nation. It, indeed, seems to be a wise starategic move from the company as festive season is about to commence. In the dual-tone shade, the white paint is applied to the A-Pillar, roof and the bodywork aft the rear doors. The tailgate however, is finished in the primary color. There are also several subtle upgrades in form of ORVMs with integrated blinkers, chrome door handles, ‘Pajero Sport’ decals on the doors and ‘Super Select 4WD’ badges on the rear fenders. Inside the cabin, DVD display and cooler box are two notable additions.
Mr Uttam Bose, Managing Director, HMFCL, said, "We have always been customer oriented. We evaluate and anticipate the buyer's likes and dislikes and make suitable changes. More footfalls and higher rate of conversion prove that imparting dual tone to Pajero Sport has clicked with the customers. Buyers can expect more from us in the coming days." Mechanically, the Pajero Sport limited edition is unchanged as it continues to draw its power from the 2.5-litre, 16-valve, intercooled turbocharged DOHC common-rail DI-D engine. This engine makes out a hefty power 176bhp at 4000 rpm in accordnce with a peak torque performance of 400Nm at 2000-2500 rpm. Power is being disbursed evenly to all the four wheels of the SUV, owing to the super select 4WD drive system, via a 5-speed manual transmission. It competes against the likes of Toyota Fortuner, Hyundai Santa Fe and Ford Endeavour in India.
