Japanese car maker Mitsubishi has announced the post-GST pricing of its SUV, the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport. The new price list shows a drop of Rs 1.04 lakh across all its variant. The lowest priced variant, Mitsubishi Pajero Sport AT 4×2, which was priced at Rs. 27.7 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) prior to GST, will now be sold for 26.65 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
The Mitsubishi Pajero Sport is powered by a 2.5 litre 4-cylinder diesel engine that develops a power output of 176 bhp at 4,000 rpm. The 4 x 2 Automatic transmission variant can develop a torque of 350 Nm at 1,800 - 3,500 rpm, while the 4 × 4 Manual variant can develop a torque of 400 Nm. Both the variants are mated to a 5-speed gearbox and pack 17-inch alloy wheels.
Mitsubishi has recently launched a new variant of Pajero Sport. Called the Pajero Sport Select Plus, the new variant comes with both automatic and manual transmission options. The Select Plus variant is better in terms of design with black roof, grille, pillars and alloy wheels.
In addition, Mitsubishi has also dropped the price of the Montero SUV by a whopping Rs. 10 lakh. The SUV that comes with a more powerful 3.2-litre diesel engine was selling for a price of Rs 68.62 lakh, but will now be sold for Rs 57.98 lakh.
Note that the new GST tax structure has reduced the tax burden on luxury cars, and almost all the automakers have generously passed on the benefits to the end users by reducing the prices.
