In October 2015, Mitsubishi unveiled its eX Crossover concept at the Tokyo Motor Show and followed by eX Concept, the company has teased a new small crossover MPV ahead of its unveil at the 2016 GAIKINDO Indonesia International Auto Show near Jakarta, Indonesia that will commence from August 11 till August 21. The company says that will launch the model in 2017 in the Indonesian car market.
Speaking of the design aesthetics, the front fascia of the crossover gets a significant resemblance to the Mitsubishi eX concept and on a closer look, the silhouette of the side profile and tail seems much stretched than the eX. This could be due to the bodystyle survey made in the Asian market require so and once touch down in India, it will possibly compete with the likes of recently launched Honda BRV. Inside, the MPV will get 7-seater configuration that hints for a wide body along with optimized interior layout, while not much of interior details has been released on it.
As it is a concept, the powertrain could likely be an all-electric with 70 kW motors on each axle and it won’t be surprising if it will get all-wheel drive just like the eX. It could also be offered in petrol as it is quite popular in the country, but in India there is a possibility of the model getting powered by a small diesel motor.
