More than 1.5 lakhs of Bajaj CT100s sold in 3 months
Snapshot: Bajaj Auto claimed that they have managed to sell over 1.5 lakhs of CT100 in the first 3 months of its launch
If taking into account the statistics of the last two fiscal years, Bajaj lost a chunk of market shares in the 100cc motorcycle segment. Bajaj sold over 11.73 lakhs 100cc motorcycles back in 2013-14 fiscal year and the numbers dramatically reduced to 8.34 lakhs in the last fiscal. The reason for this slight downfall in the sales of small capacity bike is that Bajaj Auto is now concentrating on introducing high performance premium motorcycles to the world. If they want their solid presence in the international market today they cannot survive working on the 100cc motorcycles.
Bajaj reintroduced the CT100s to the Indian motorcycle market back in the starting of this year and just after its launch Bajaj claims that they have managed to sell more than 1.5 lakhs units of the same. The CT100 is based on a single cylinder, air-cooled 99.27cc engine that delivers near 8.1bhp of power and 8.05Nm of torque. The engine is matched to a 4-speed transmission. The price tag in which it was introduced made it one of the most affordable motorcycle of the market today. It was launched at a price of INR 36,828 Ex-Showroom (Mumbai). All these factors helped Bajaj in selling a decent numbers of CT100 in the market.
