India Kawasaki Motors Pvt Ltd (IKM) has launched the MY20 Ninja ZX-10R at an introductory price of Rs 13.99 Lakhs (Ex-showroom-Delhi) in the country. The deliveries of the new motorcycle will from mid of June 2019 onwards for the customers who booked it during pre-booking period last month by paying Rs 1.50 Lakhs. Being based on the KRT race machine that has been amassing record after record in the Superbike World Championship, Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R comes with an array of premium and advanced features such as Sport-Kawasaki Traction Control, Kawasaki Launch Control Mode, Kawasaki Cornering Management Function, Kawasaki Engine Brake control, Kawasaki Intelligent anti-lock Brake System, Aluminium Twin-spar Frame, Aluminium Swingarm, and a specially developed Öhlins electronic steering damper. The motorcycle will be available in a single-seater variant for the Indian market. The high performance BREMBO Brake system with M50 monobloc calipers gripping Ø 330 mm discs are assisted by specially prepared radial-pump master cylinder and race-quality steel-braided lines.
Mechanically, the motorcycle gets power from a refreshed 998cc engine which delivers 200bhp of top power. However, the maximum power output with RAM air stands at 210bhp. The revised engine is more powerful (by 3bhp) than before and offers a linear power delivery. The engine uses the finger follower valve actuation and the Valve train is designed by Kawasaki’s World Superbike engineers. 2020 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R will challenge the likes of Honda CBR 1000RR and BMW S1000RR, which come at prices of Rs 16.41 Lakhs and Rs 18.05 Lakhs (Both Ex. Showroom, Delhi), respectively. The local assembly has made the new Ninja ZX-10R the most affordable 1-litre supersport motorcycle in India.
