This time round, Tata Motors is ensuring that its efforts in the passenger car segment don’t go unappreciated. The recently unveiled Bolt hatchback and Zest sedan have shown the progress made by Tata and now India's famous Formula 1 driver, Narain Karthikeyan is joining hands with Tata Motors to improvise their future models on several technical parameters. Narain is working closely with Tata's R&D department, not to leave any stone unturned in the development of new models.

The racing icon has been testing prototypes and conceptual models from their very initial stage on Tata's own test track and is giving his feedback over how to improvise new models to surpass competitors in the market. Being a race-car driver, Narain knows the role of every small yet crucial technical factor that results in an overall improvement to the drivability of the car. His feedback includes the responsiveness of steering at different speeds, brake performance, body roll, suspension stiffness and damping rate, mileage, power and torque delivery to make the new models fun to drive and ideal for Indian as well as foreign markets.

Narain has been working with R&D team of Tata Motors since the last four years. He has also played an important role in the development of Bolt and Zest, and the new cars definitely carry his stamp of approval.
